Privacy.Your screen stays on your Mac.

Moneta is made by Rahul Bhadauriya, trading as Dacoit Design Co., in India. Questions about privacy go to hello@monetamac.com.
What the app captures
While capturing is on, Moneta saves a screenshot about once a minute, but only when your screen has changed, along with the text recognised in it and the name of the app and window in front. It skips minutes when you've paused it, when your Mac is locked or idle, and when an app you've excluded is in front. Excluded apps, which include password managers and messaging apps by default, are left out of every screenshot.
All of it is written to a folder you choose, on your Mac. Text recognition happens on your Mac too.
Where it goes: nowhere
Moneta never uploads your screenshots, the text in them, or your logs. We never see them. Screenshots are deleted after the time you choose (7 days, 30 days or never), and deleting the folder deletes everything.
The two things Moneta sends
To check your licence, Moneta talks to Dodo Payments, our payment provider:
- When you activate, it sends your licence key and a device name made of your Mac's model and a short code derived from its hardware ID (for example "Mac15,6 · 3f9a1c"), so you can see and manage your activations.
- About once a week, it sends the licence key and that activation's ID to check the licence is still valid.
To look for updates, once a day Moneta downloads a small update list from monetamac.com. The request carries only the app's version and your macOS version, and like any visit to the site it's logged by our host, Vercel. Updates are signed, and installed only when you say so.
That's all. The app has no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking.
Your agent
Moneta has no AI inside. When you point your own agent (Claude Code, Codex or another) at your folder, that agent reads your files and may send their contents to its provider, under that provider's terms. You choose what it reads, and the private.md file in your folder tells it what to leave out of posts.
Buying Moneta
Dodo Payments is the merchant of record for every purchase: it takes the payment, handles taxes, sends your receipt and emails your licence key. It shares your name, email, country and order details with us so we can support your licence. We never see your card details. Dodo Payments' own privacy policy covers what it does with your payment.
We use your email only for your purchase, your licence and important news about Moneta. We don't sell it or share it with anyone else.
The website
This site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard request logs (such as IP address and browser) for security and operations. The site has no analytics, no cookies and no trackers. After checkout, your licence key is shown on the thank-you page from the checkout link and isn't sent anywhere else.
Your choices
Email us to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Some purchase records have to be kept for tax reasons.
Changes
If this changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
